Default Cigarros PUNCH 1910 Almendares

"PUNCH" 1910 Cigars. In the 40 years that I have been a researcher and collector, this is the rarest card I know of from that collection, in Volume 2 of my Specialized Catalogs I give details about it.

Are those individual cards, in the book, Roland?

Default Leon

The Punch 1919 card collection has cards from the Almendares, Havana teams and the Major League teams that were in Cuba to face the Cuban teams, one of the most sought-after cards is that of Detroit, where the Ty Cobb card appears , in Volume 1 of my Specialized Catalogs, all the collections of Cuban cards from 1909, Cabañas Cigars up to 1957 appear, and each collection has illustrated pages with the cards and names, in this case that I show is a larger card with the Almendares players and since it is of a larger format shown in Volume 2, they made individual cards for the players.

In the individual cards of the "Punch Cigars" collection they have a frame on all four sides, in the card that I showed with all the photos of the Almendares players, note that they are the original photos of the players without the frame, and the frame black covers all four sides of the set, now I show a card of José Mendez.

Default Ty Cobb Punch

I show some Punch Cigars cards that I scanned years ago in my house, Ty Cobb and others from the teams that played in 1910 in Havana, the Almendares ones were glued one next to the other on the album sheet of the same player Juan Viola

Hey Jon
Awesome pack. So any other details on this one? If it's yours, congrats! ( I shouldn't have sold my pack collection . )

Roland- great cards as always. The Mendez and Cobb cards are off the charts! Thanks again for sharing.

Hey Leon - this one is mine. I’ve had it for a number of years now. It has a 1912 tax stamp on it, however it was found together with a few cards, so read into that whatever you’d like! I didn’t think I’d have an opportunity to acquire another, so I jumped at it. Maybe Ryan or others can shed more light on it.

Jon, you have shown from your collection a magnificent Punch brand cigarette box I have never seen before, and I collect cigarette boxes and tobacco labels. The "Punch" Factory was founded in 1840 by Manuel López, and in the beginning they put their products on the British market, at that time the humorous character "Mr. Punch" was in fashion and they decided that this character would illustrate their labels. Now I show a "Punch" label from the Tobacco trademark registration of 1850, and two tobacco rings, one with the photo of King George V, and the other with two presidents including the United States.

Matt Goebel, you have shown the best card of Gervasio González that I have seen, also glued to their original cardboard as they came inside the cigarette boxes, it is also seen that from the original printer's sheet they were cut with scissors in an irregular way as shown see in the upper left part, it has a part of the card next to it, now I show from my Specialized Catalog Volume 1, part of one of the Cigars "Punch" pages where I give the explanation, there is the photo of your card and another photo top left.
