Default E98 Tenney (Blue) head count?

I just stumbled onto the PSA Tenney BL recently. I had the SGC one in the corral already (thanks to Bob "tBob"). I was wondering, with the two here and Bob's higher grade one, that he held onto; if I could ask for a show of hands; excluding set registry examples; how many do you think are still out there?
(Brian has one; he responded on the other post)

It's nice that PSA broke them down by color, which spoiled me; when it comes to E98.

Sorry for the duplication; I originally posted this to the B/S/T, Pre-war by mistake.

Yes Pete. SGC's pop doesn't help me much. At least PSA (thx to BSF) breaks down by color.

Thank you Brian for sharing. I enjoy all candy cards but E98 (Old Put aside) has me firing on all cylinders. I have digested the threads from this forum and just love all the backstory, history and unknowns this set provides. My eyes light up when I see a seldom seen (Tinker BL, Tenney BL, Mack OR, for ex.) on eBay. I kinda go with the flow; not the $$$ available to set build or color build; but I do find that I have 3 Klings and need only the Red; so there's that.

No blue Tenney, but here is an incredibly narrow Tinker in a blue E98 sandwich with a side of Brown.

Here's my Tinker BL (Now SOLD, BTW). I remember seeing your pic on a thread awhile back; cool follow up comments; sometime later, I see this popup on eBay and snagged it. Love your Coombs, BTW.

Default E98 Blues

Ben, here's a link to my Blue set, which have always been my favorite E98 color. Along with being the toughest to locate, they're also the most challenged to find in decent condition. Good luck on your E98 journey!

Stunning.
Both appearance and the thought of what it would take, in my reality; to accomplish.
My first sighting of Walsh BL.
Thank you Pete for sharing.
Ben.

There are five recorded sales in CardTarget, which breaks down transactions by color. http://www.cardtarget.com/cards/176207. Some are probably a match to those posted above.

I believe that, with Ed's Card Target link above; it can realistically be said that the number of E98 Tenney Blues, floating around out there; settles in at a 5 or 6 number.

Thank you to all for your input.

Here's one that sold back in 2007 I couldn't save the image so I had to
print it that's why it's so blurry.

My guess is you could easily double, triple or quadruple (or more) that number for copies in existence. Most of them you won't find online, is my guess.

Hi Pat,

Try the Snipping Tool if you can't save an image. Works well in those cases.

Thank you Leon, I agree with your premise. Those that are part of private collections, set registries, master sets, etc. always provide that gray area; for me. In general, I refer to pop reports, auction results and the like to kinda get a feel for what is out there and potentially available. When a new cycle of collectors enters the room; I have run across this at card shows; it helps me to talk somewhat intelligently (for me, anyway) to specialty/type collecting minds. Many I encounter, like me, don't have the $$$ to master or team set even; look for cool niches (my E98 Kling 4 colors, for ex.) to explore. Thank you to all for priceless info.

I agree with Leon on this, as I believe there are still a lot of 'undocumented' cards out there, and I think that for the E98 set this might be even more of a possibility as many in the olden days collected the set without specifically choosing a color. You took what you could get, and I imagine there are still a fair amount of E98 cards that have not been plasticized, or shared with the general public. Thus more blue Tenneys.
