Default E card collectors..what are you focusing on now?

As for myself, when I get back into the hobby ...I love the E98's( a very slow project, but I love their look esp. the Mack,E95 much more doable...drawn to the portraits, then theres the CJ's...decisions!

I'm currently working on a low grade (good or less) E93 set. Started around June 2010. I'm currently at 18 of 30. I was drawn to the set due to the percentage of HOF's and that most of the cards are action poses. Having limited funds, I also liked that the set is relatively cheap. Unfortunately, I'm now at the point where I mostly need the big names.

As my sig line reads, Im sitting on 140 1915 CJs currently. Also, have my e120 project on hold at 39/240 cards and Ive debatd on an e92 set, with my own customized rules, for the future. The biggest thing currently, and what will probably dictate my collecting focus until the National, is some auction house that ends next saturday...what were those initials again? Ha! Good luck and I will say think long and hard prior to starting CJs....

Echo Brian and Peter

Love the E94 and E107 sets. Obvious issue is the expense of both issues. Slow process.

Gone as far as I can go with the caramels because I don't collect the E103 and 107 sets so I have shifted to tobacco with the T210s and T213s. Still will go after floating head E99s when they appear...

I became bored with T206 (but as they say, it is the "gateway drug" of prewar baseball cards), and sold them all last year. I became interested in E105s after picking one up on the BST, and plan on taking it very, very slowly. I hope to at least pick up one or two more this year.

The only reason for why perhaps one day i might change my mind about the t206 collecting is the fact i will never be able to finish the set, i will never be able to afford the wag.

With 33 goudey, it is more realistic to think complete the set. It is my second favorite set. If i ever change my collecting mind, i will sell my t206 for afford more 33 goudey. But it is not for now

If T206 is the gateway drug, perhaps we should establish a half way house for those collectors, but should it be at 262, halfway to 524, or at 500, halfway to the ultimate Monster Number of 1000.

I'm a set guy, even though I'll never get the last 13 T206 cards. After 6 years though, I'm still not bored. However I am already past both of the halfway houses proposed above, and have picked up a wide variety of type cards along the way other Ts, Es, Ms, Rs, etc. So in addition to my Monster collector status, I am also an "alphabet soup type collector".

The reasons I think you'll tire of t206:

1 you have a history of collecting many things...so you'll eventually move on to something else
2 these days it is not that difficult to attain most knowledge about the t206 set by researching on the Internet in a very short period of time
3 as u say...you most likely will never complete it...but then again a set of 522 would be impressive...albeit incomplete
4 when u realize how ridiculously common most t206's are...you'll want to collect cards that are rarer
5 sure are a lot of commons!

I understand your pt of view. Like i said i will probably start à 33 goudey set for take some brake of t206 and buy a couple of goudey card.

In t206 i will never be able to have more than 522 cards it is the only thing i hâte from t206 lol. The goudey set is more easy to complete
