Not only a crisp 1938 Goudey (probably now the nicest I have), but also a card I did not have. Thanks Secret Santa for the very nice double whammy!

Santa came correct! I'm starting a 64 Topps set, so my Santa sent 25 nice cards to get me started. He also sent the Topps and Donruss rookie cards of Big Lee Smith, a Cubs matchbook, and the Topps Snowflake variation cards of Yu Darvish and Anthony Rizzo. Now to scour eBay to find the rest of the cards from that set! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Santa sent a nice assortment of Griffey Mariners cards and collectibles. I gave mine away more than 10 years ago, very excited to get some back. Also, I received a Johnny Bench Topps scratch card.

Santa stopped by with a heavy box!

Got 6 sharp looking 1960 Topps cards of my Cubbies! Those are my first cards to set building 1960 Topps, so definitely off to an excellent start! In addition, I got sets of 1990,1991, & 1992 Leaf & I got a Baseball HOF 2020 edition book! Love it!! Thank you so much Santa! Merry Christmas!

Bet Santa had a good time shopping for you. I heard Santa is a huge Cub fan so definitely had his resources for gifts.

Default Thanx Santa

Nice items so far guys and thanx for sharing. Being a Black Sox fan was very happy to receive a nice 1919 commemorative card set. Also, a bound Conlon Collection Masters Series 1 Set. All the Biggest stars included featured only the way Conlon could, beautiful shots. Thanx again Santa, hope all had a great Christmas and enjoy the best of New Years !

Sorry I'm a bit late here...

My very generous Secret Santa sent me a variety of goodies. One of them just arrived today. It was a bit too large to photograph properly; however, it is a tremendous Phillies outdoor banner. Tremendously large, too. I haven't had a chance to unroll it fully or enjoy it properly yet. It's so big, it actually has purposeful half-circle slits cut into it. That way, the wind didn't turn the banner into a Great Sail while it was displayed at the ballpark!

Along with this, Santa also sent me a ticket from the final game at Veteran's Stadium. This grand old multi-purpose facility opened in the early 70s and saw more than three decades of Phillies and Eagles games. For most people, it was a rough place. Hell, it even had a jail cell...for real. For me, though, it was Nirvana. "The Vet" was the place at which I learned about Major League Baseball. My dad took me to every Sunday home game while I was growing up. Days which were, sadly, over too fast.

And then there were these. Three-card panels from the Topps Vault. They look remarkable. The cards are beautiful in their early 70s simplicity.

One of them features two players from (at that time) fairly new expansion teams. It also has a picture of the Calder Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL Rookie of the Year. Perhaps Topps purposefully grouped this trophy with players from expansion teams, subtly expressing the promise of both youth and of hockey clubs in new cities.

On the other panel, there are players from two Original 6 teams and the Norris Trophy. For those who may not know, it is the "Defenseman of the Year" award with (in my opinion) a much cooler name. The game was more physical in that era, and few players were tougher than those who patrolled the blue line. It seems fitting that Topps paired the Norris Trophy with players from two of the oldest (and most heavily battle-scarred) clubs in the league.

Thank you, Santa. I really do appreciate your generosity. Sorry it took me a little while to post this.

Default Jerr Coleman

A belated surprise. My 2 year old wisely hid my Secret Santa gift in a basket only to be discovered today. It arrived early, but displaced. It's a signed baseball by Jerry "The Colonel" Coleman who served in two combat theatres(WWII and Korea) as a Marine aviator. I love the gift - Thank you Secret Santa.

I'll post an image later. Not allowing me to upload at present.

Semper Fi,

E
