Default M101-5 Ruth

Wow look at that M101-5 Ruth on ebay. Nice fake card. This guy sold item for few hundred dollars and buyer didnt pay so relisted it and exceeded $35000 with one bidder.

What's sort of crazy is the different bidders bidding. I would have thought it would be one of those obvious ones where the top 3-4 bidders all bid only with this seller but that isn' the case. I would guess there is at least one shill in the woodpile but it's different than most in that respect.

I wonder if he'll throw in that schnazzy leather purse if I win the Ruth-- have something to carry the card around in.

And as nice as the Ruth is, that John Starks card is the real treasure.

Matt,

I'm waiting for you to place the next bid so you can be the proud owner of TWO Ruth rookies including one with a signed back! LOL!!!!!!!!

I don't know anything about this series. How can you tell the card is fake?

The amount of space between the player image and the black rectangular border is much larger on the fakes. On a real M101-5, there is virtually no space between the border and the player image.

Also, I hate to be redundant but if you look at the row of icons at the top of each page you will see one that says Detecting Card Alterations and Reprints.....it's been there for many years and there is a section there on M101-4/5, and how to tell if they are reprints...
