Haunting images as it was his time in the military that eventually cost him his life (not immediately like Eddie Grant but haunting nonetheless). Reflecting on our times can anyone imagine Derek Jeter, A-rod, or Prince Fielder donning military garb and giving the enemy hell? Maybe they would but it seems hard to imagine!

There is an error on the website where this film clip is.

The site states:
Location: United States
Date: 1914
Duration: 6 sec

In 1914 Matty won 24 games for the Giants and the USA was still years away from entering WWI.
I could be wrong but I doubt Matty was in uniform in 1914.

Scott Boras would be delivering bags of cash to whomever he could to ensure none of his clients missed a season.

The soldier above is wearing Captain's bars on his overseas cap. Mathewson was a Captain.
