I’d crack and send in to get an authentic on it. PSA or SGC your choice. I wouldn’t monkey around selling like this. I’d take care of it yourself for a clean sale. Definitely crack out though.

I have an email in to PSA right now but who knows how long that will take. I think cracking it out out and sending it in might be the way to go. Is it ok to send in a card you know is trimmed? Do I just ask for an authentic designation? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My understanding is that the grading price is based on the valuation of the card. If you submit it then the price to grade it would probably be a bit more if you're looking for a numerical grade. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that a Cy Young that looked that nice wasn't trimmed, then it would be high grade and the grading cost would be a bit more than just disclosing it as trimmed. Anybody else want to weigh in?
For the people that know - what happens if you submit a card for grading thinking it's a high grade and pay the fee for grading a high grade card and then PSA says, no, it's trimmed. Will PSA reimburse the grading fee for the difference in submission cost between a high grade card and an AUTH card? Edited to add - I don't mind a trimmed card like this if the price is right. How much are you looking to get for the card?

I don't like the way the top border looks on the card in question...But it's graded so ....

There’s no question the tob border is trimmed. I posted here to get help on the card itself being authentic. If the card is legit, I’d like to have it in an authentic altered slab where the cert # actually shows up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Crack it, send to SGC instead, $15 for a standard sub on a card worth $1500 or less. If they high grade it and want more money, they will let you know. When you sell it, the price will be about equivalent anyway, but without involving yourself in the jackassery of PSA.
