Ha, well-said. Don't get me wrong, I'm real happy with it! I better be in case my wife checks the paypal account to see what I paid (she'd never understand what a good deal I got)

Default I don't

I don't see the diamond cut you are referring too. No vintage card is perfect at some point you learn to love the minor imperfections which makes it vintage. Love the '56 JRob was thinking about buying a similar card last month but keep getting distracted with other cards

I vaguely see the DC. Doesn't bother me one bit, that Jackie is absolutely gorgeous... Congrats on the pickup.

Also can't see the diamond cut on that card. Back in the '80's, my wife discovered I spent 28 bucks on a NM '51 Bowman Ford card and she hit the ceiling. Spent the next month monitoring her bills and confronted her over a fifty dollar shoe purchase. Not the same thing, according to the boss...I had to agree.

Oh, the irony. No kidding, just saw the wife's buy of $50 for a pair of shoes--FLIP FLOPS!!--on paypal. I'm storing that little nugget away should I need it.

Very nice Mick pickups, gents! My vintage stops at '57, so gearing up to trade all my '78 and later that I collected, for '58-'71.

Adam-that Versalles cards is like a some weird modern art painting!

I have nothing so esoteric but this finishes off my 48-57 Topps and Bowman Dodgers run. Now for the upgrades!

yes, those two are among the stranger misprints I've acquired. In 1976 at summar camp I recall eating a Hostess product most days. I actually remember getting the Hank Aaron card--he was a favorite of mine. So, picked up a few in memory of 1976:

Thirty years on, I think the $28 spent on a NM 51 B Ford was justified. The $50 shoes, not that much. Only wish I had the guts then to put down a hundred or two on the NM Mantle rook card.
