Default Ruth card? Can't find any info

Not a new member here but haven't been active in over 2 years.

I am looking at a collection and may buy some items from it. Wish I could afford it all!

Having an issue finding anything about this card or the company who graded it. Is it even a card? Any help would be greatly appreciated from the knowledge base here!

See if this works. I don't remember how to post image directly. It keeps asking for a link.

It's just a picture cut out of a Reach baseball guide, not a card at all and the entire guide complete is a $50 - $100 item if it's in great shape. A picture cut out of it is worthless. Sorry for the bad news.

That's actually good news. Its in an Estate Sale I am going to in the morning. I had no idea what it was. Not likely something I would buy but it was interesting.

The sale is full of autographed balls, prints and cards. Lots of tobacco cards and Red Sox/Ted Williams items. Have had people look at the Mantle, DiMaggio and other baseballs and all say they are legit. No clue if I will buy anything but it will be fun to check out. No idea how they will price things. The whole estate sale is sports memorabilia, which is rare around here.

Thanks for the info!

Yes, a picture cut out of a page of a Reach Baseball Guide. It's on very thin paper. Not really worth much, maybe a quarter... and that's a stretch. It's a shame a guide may have been cut up for that.

And it's good news, you now know what it is, and know not to get excited about it. It's good to know that before you bought it.

That's why I came here. Google wasn't a help. I was just thrown by the "grading". Haven't been buying or selling much lately, but I know where the knowledge is.

Wow that's a lot of cards in that sale. (making some assumptions about which sale it is.) Wide ranging collection — I love the strip cards. Would love to hear how it goes. If the few prices visible are from the sale and not pre-existing stickers, bargains will be tough.

Here is the sale info with 300-ish pics. Got there this morning and was in the first group that allowed entry. Lots of cool stuff in there. Most of it was in a smallish basement room. Prices were very high, especially on cards. I may go back Sunday and see what's left and what kind of deals they will make. Lots of autographed balls, prints, posters, etc. A few I can remember off the top of my head, with asking prices:

1. Mantle Autograph Ball - $500
2. Joe DiMaggio Autographed Ball - $350
3. 500 HR Club Auto Ball - $750
- Included Mantle, Ted Williams, Banks, Mike Schmidt, E. Mathews, Frank Robinson, McCovey?, Willie Mays.... Had 11-12 sigs. Really nice ball!

Had 2 big posters (see pics in link), 1 500 HR Club and 1 3000 Hit Club. All members signed. Wanted $750 each.

On the flip side, they had a really nice, perfectly centered '57 Ted Williams #1 with a small crinkle on the back of the top left corner. Beautiful card that wouldn't grade higher than a 4. They priced at $1500.

I didn't buy anything this morning. Some really good cards that were framed. Couldn't tell if they were trimmed to fit, glued in or what. I stayed away.

I looked at it this morning. It didn't look like a cutout. It was thicker cardboard stock. Maybe a sample or promo card for the Reach Guide?

Can't remember the price they had on it but it was at least a few hundred dollars.

someone mounted it to cardboard. happens all the time.

Also please don't buy those autographs unless you're positive about them. The balls you name are probably the three most forged balls in the hobby.

Man that's a dangerous sale. Some great stuff cheek to cheek with bogus crap. Looks like a collector who just trusted everyone. BE CAREFUL!

I had some people in a FB group that have been around awhile and they all seemed to agree the autographs on the balls were good. Honestly, I'm not likely a buyer simply because they are expensive. Every autographed baseball I've got was signed in person. My problem with baseballs is so many of them fade. I've kept them away from direct lighting and sun exposure and still over 20 years or so many are rough. I have 2 Reggie Jackson balls that are barely readable at all. I'd guess I have about 10-12 HOF balls that still look good. Most of the others are 50% or worse.

He did have COA's on some but I didn't look at them because I wasn't a realistic buyer especially at those prices. It was more fun checking everything out for me.

Not just autographs (and I HATE several of the Ted Williams autographs) there are some bogus cards too.
