Default Thought I had a good shot at a few before midnight

Then the clock struck 12 and the bids ran up the clock - really blown away by some of the final prices. When the dust settled I landed 1 that has been on my radar for a while.

I got stomped like a bug. Extremely strong prices paid on the lots I was bidding on, and I've been consistently winning lots with REA over the last 9+ months. This felt different. Maybe the Wagner really was a rising tide that lifted all ships.

Gotta man up if you expect to win against the giddies. Rational bidders do not win in REA usually.

My main target was the W600 Wagner. At some point though, the condition issues no longer justified the price that I would have to pay to stay in the running.

You are right but with so many auctions and so many great items I will stay disciplined and get something on my want list.

I am slow, steady, and strategic and work on my small but growing collection in a methodical fashion.

And yes I have blown my budget many times for the Must Have Card

Nothing has been A Must have item

So Next up Is Heritage then Love of the Game and So On and So On.

Got the card I wanted the most out of the auction I'm a sucker for ugly oversized borders! Certainly could not turn down a hand-cut example from my favorite set!

AND, I did something I thought I'd never do - spend less than $100 in an REA auction. This fattie cost me a cool $75!

I was close on the E98 and T213 Cobbs - those look like good buys to me. I picked up two low grade Cobb T205’s for less than my max bids - and less than half of what I sold one for at the National two weeks ago.

Nice Keeler. This one's not really a win, more of a BIN since I was the only bidder. Hudson to go with a Fred Mann that I picked up a few years ago. I guess I collect these Browns studio cabs now.

I spent a bit, but was happy to come away with these. Matty is a bit off center, but the color pops. Cy is nicely centered.

Thanks Chad. I actually had the ability to see it first, before I got "serious" about it, at the National. It is real nice other than the 1 flaw, the tear/rip, on upper border that does touch the red background

Rob - those are awesome...I happen to have one of those from the same studio as well...none other than Hugh Duffy:

Nice. I too was a bidder on the CJ 14.

Prices on all sports were more than I had in mind. Strong results on to 20 plus items I was following and bidding on.

Congrats to all who won.

Great Bancroft! Thought about going after it but didn’t. Have 2 tabless copies. Great card!

Glenn:

Nice pair of pick-ups there. Not sure if you are aware or not but the Bancroft is also a rookie card as well and a HOF'er at that.

Always fun to see what everyone picked up and as usual, some great pieces are posted here. Congrats!

I was pleased to land Lot 329, 21 T207 cards and Lot 2012, the Macon Composite.
