WOW! Those borders are beautifully white for a card over 60 years old. Nice 4.

Thank you! Yes, I looked at a lot of these before picking this one. Very pleased with it!

Nabbed this 55 Aaron with excellent centering and a crystal clear picture of young Hammerin' Hank. As a bonus the back is as perfectly centered as I've ever seen on a 55 Bowman.

Chipping away at a Steve Carlton player run. After this Philly Show pickup, I'm one step closer.

The streaks/spots are my cranky old scanner; the card presents much nicer.

Picked this up this past weekend at a local card show. Liked the centering and thought it had good eye appeal.

Still on my slow but steady quest to finish the 1953 Dormand set. Picked up this nice raw PeeWee...I'll be submitting to SGC here soon with about 8 others. Sitting at 19 cards, 11 SGC graded (I have a PSA 5 Enos Slaughter that needs to be popped and submitted)

Still love the photography and the look of these. If anyone has any mid grade examples looking to unload, please let me know!

What makes your shot even cooler, is it was (I assume) most definitely taken before a World Series game, as there wouldn't have been a reason for 'Dem Bums' to be hanging out in the Bronx during the regular season.

I never thought of that...very cool. I assume these were taken in 1952, and indeed that was Yanks v Dodgers. 90% of the set is Yanks and Dodgers, mostly Yanks. Thanks for the added value Jolly...I still have a lot to learn about this cool set!

Like Tris himself, I reached out and grabbed this one, 1951 Topps Connie Mack's All-Stars Tris Speaker.

This is a set I remember seeing in the old photocopied mailings from those card collectors companies when I was a kid, and my wondrous eyes saw these great things as nothing short of forgotten ancient relics. Very cool, indeed.

This beautiful 1973 'Goose' Gossage RC is but a mere hair away from being a straight 9, but it's also a bit of a puzzler. Since it is freshly graded (a 'Fontsixer' in my New Collectorisms parlance), why does it have a qualifier??? Huh? I thought they did away with those? Weird.

Either way, love it!!

Yeah, nice card. It was apparently in this card's best interest to give it the 9(oc).

From the PSA blog on qualifiers: "...qualifiers will be used infrequently and at the discretion of the grading staff when they feel it’s in the card’s best interest to apply a qualifier."

Yeah, don't think they really did away with anything. I still seem to see qualifiers on plenty of new slabs. As was pointed out, it must be in the card's "best interests" to wear the qualifier.

PSA kills me. They could come out tomorrow with a press release saying they are adding the (U) (This card is ugly...) qualifier, and many collectors would rush to defend them.

Yeah, it appears the change was that they took it out of the customer's hands. You used to be able to specify what you wanted, now they just pick.

It's like some sort of bizarre cardboard custody battle...

Father: "I don't want him to have a qualifier. All the other cards in the shoebox will treat him differently."

Mother: "Our bitterness for each other aside, we MUST always do what's in the best interests of our card."
