Anyone know the story behind this?
The latest SCP Auction has a Red Auerbach desktop sign that says:
"Experience don't mean s$$$. Bill Russell April 23, 1972" That date is the date on which the Celtics were defeated by the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals, but I'd like to know more about the quote. It sounds like something Russell might have said to a reporter, but I can't find any real context. Were the Celtics supposed to win the series because of their greater experience? Anyone know? Thanks, TAT |
