Default Question: I am trying to complete the E-91 set (A,B,C)

Posted By: Jonathan

I have just started on my first vintage set, and would love some guidance. I know that E-91 is considered by many as the "most unpopular caramel set ever produced", but I like the way it looks and it looks like it can be completed on a limited budget. About how much money should it take to put together, in a respectable grade? What are the key cards other than the Wagner or Mathewson? Any help would be great!

Johnson (set C) is tough due to the fact he is in so few caramel issues.
It would be kinda' neat to see all 99 cards together. Match them up by "generic" tendencies and determine who the card looks like the most.
Good Luck

I completed a C set and came within 2 cards of finishing the B series. The As are the most difficult -- I think it would be hard to assemble an A set. Bs are more difficult than Cs. Within the Cs, there are distinct differences between the teams. I found Senators the easiest to put together. Pirates were slightly more difficult and the Red Sox were the most difficult of the C teams to assemble. I think the Joe Wood card was particularly difficult (this is not a shameless plug for my Wood as I've already traded away my set).
