Default Branch Rickey glass plate negative

I am certainly no expert on anything "photo" or "photo negative" related, but I am suspicious of the date that legendary provided in this listing.

http://www.legendaryauctions.com/Lot...ntoryid=159257

Mr. Rickey looks much too old for this to be from 1906 (or even from his playing days). Simply compare to the 1906-07 W601 St. Louis Browns Team PC to see the difference.

Other than his aged face, is there anything we can glean from the uniform??

He played w/ the Browns from 1905-06 and again in 1914.
He managed the Browns from 1913-15 and Cardinals from 1919-25.

Any help on a "better" date to assign to his item would be much appreciated.

Agreed

We have some late 1910's examples coming up in our auction and he looks almost exactly the same and that is where I would date this one, late 1910's.

The photo is datable from the Comiskey Park billboard advertising - it is 1915.

Thank you Rhys and Mark for confirming my suspicions.
