Default Ebay vs. the National. Round 1

Posted By: Turner

After reading sevearal threads about the National where Ebay was mentioned hand in hand, how bad did Ebay hurt the overall show this year?

How much did it cost you to travel to Anaheim? (Airfare, meals, gas, etc.)

Was it worth the trip?

Default Ebay vs. the National. Round 1

Posted By: Paul

In my opinion, ebay undercut the national in a significant way. Much of the vintage material at the national has previously been on ebay -- sometimes 3 or 4 times. The prices at the national, of course, were higher than the latest ebay price since the dealer who won on ebay is trying to turn a profit. Years ago, the national (or a similar big show) was the only place where you would see most vintage material. But, with ebay, much of the material at the national has been seen before.

It was still well worth the trip. My cost in gas was about a dollar. Parking was a pain, though, $9 per day.
