Default 1951 Bowman Baseball glued onto board....

28 cards neatly glued to a black cardboard backing. This is my friend's sheet but I do have it in my possession for posting on here. He's wondering what it might be worth?

Not looking to sell it as of right now, just gauging perceived value for him.

He is also wondering if he should soak them off or keep this intact.

I told him it looked pretty neat and I'd keep it intact. What do you think?

Pretty clean and cool piece with about 4 or 5 HOF players.

The plastic glare is from a large plastic bag I slid the sheet in for protection.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Neat item but not that much value in my opinion. Doubt if cards could be removed without back damage so I would leave it intact. I think a couple hundred dollars would be a good price for it as is. Basically framed up would be the best way to display it. I'm sure others will offer their opinions and I could be low on value but I don't think it would be worth much more.

With presumably destroyed backs from being glued, it's just a lot of poor condition cards. If they can be soaked out without back damage, it will be worth doing. Otherwise, it's not worth much. Berra and some minor HOFers are all there is of note, only Berra is worth more than like $10 in Poor Condition.

If it was mine...

I would be inclined to auction it off it as-is.

My guess would be that a few potential collectors would look at it and start to assume that there must be a pony in there somewhere, and they might go nuts trying to outbid each other for it, assuming that they could spin it into gold with a little TLC.

Then again, everyone might pass and it might sell for $5.

I agree to leave it be. If they were blazers it might be worth trying, but those cards are midgrade at best even if they come off perfectly.

If it were me, I would soak them off and if they looked like crap afterwards, reglue them onto cardboard again.
