Default A Walk In The Park = A Trot Over The Wall - TRIVIA

Looking for the player with the fewest number of walks and the same number of home runs in a season. He had more than 100 ABs that year, a lot more. To narrow it down he played postwar (WW2). Additional hints will follow as needed.

If memory serves Shawon Dunston used to walk shockingly little. Not a big HR hitter so possibly twas he.

Shawon Dunston qualifies as an incorrect answer.

93 is not significantly more than 100, but if you insist, we will make it 200 ABs.

The number of pine riders without walks or dingers are excluded.

My incorrect first guess was my 2nd favorite Pirate, Manny Sanguillen.

In 1973 he had 589 at bats, 12 home runs with just 17 walks.

Interestingly, he also had only 29 strikeouts, so he was always making contact. Yet his average was just .282.

This may be a hint

How many balls are there in a walk?

How many bases are there in a trot?

Hmmmmmm

Peter he may be in the top ten. Let's narrow it down a bit and say that 300 ABs or more are necessary to win.

Another hint

Think of a player you probably do not remember.

My guess is Alfredo Griffin - 4 HR/4 BB in 419 AB's in 1984.

Somehow he was an All Star that season...

Sorry Peter in Post #10 I raised the AB threshold to 300.

Batiste had only 209 AB. Boo-hoo

Tough to answer a question that changes every time you look at it.

He changed the question to fit the answer he had in mind. Slam dunk (wrong sport metaphor) lawsuit, no?

Default New question

A sequel to the original question on this thread.

Who had an equal number of home runs and walks greater than or equal to one and between 205 and 215 ABs in a single season.

Hint: His last name begins with B and his first name rhymes with Timothy.
