Default Anyone else notice the post office doing odd things?

So the mail seems to be taking forever these days, ok with Covid and the holidays that seems about right. But I took a look at some of my shipments and noticed a lot off odd movements. Its one thing to be sitting and not moving, but why are my packages taking long vacations to far away places. I livei Hatboro, Pa. just outside Philly and will drop off my pre-paid pacakges at post offices near home.Heres a list of where these packages went...

It's not just the USPS either. My niece lives in a rural area and has a fairly long driveway that goes through a field and then some woods. In the past week the Amazon driver has left packages in the field, on a grassy knoll, and tied in a bag to a tree!

LOL I'd take that~! At least I would have my package. I've been waiting over 3 weeks for some items!

I'm in NY and I've been waiting on a package from Michigan for the last week and a half. I checked the tracking yesterday and it was in Orlando,FL. Today it's on it's way to NJ.

It's not just you OP.

I didn't think it was just me. Being late or slow is one thing. But why the ridiculous trips to other states? It makes it look like thats the reason it is late. I'd rather my package just sit in one place and believe that there is a back up. Not travel to several different states and make it look like its late because of incompetance!

I’m not an expert on how USPS processes mail, but my deduction is it might be that certain stations that are over capacity may be offloading new mail to other stations even if in other states where there is processing capacity.
Or maybe they are just putting whatever they can on the first wagon, truck, bicycle, plane, train or automobile regardless of destination just to get the stuff out the door.
