Hello everyone,
While I'm not an expert in this domain, I recently stumbled upon an older collection that someone has inherited. It comprises cards like T206, E98s, and a few from the 1950s. Interestingly, this particular card was also part of the binder. Can anyone shed light on potential indicators that might suggest its authenticity? I'm eager to deepen my knowledge about T210s. |

From the picture I would say it is not authentic.

Looks pretty bad.
Uneven borders on back and has almost a “glossy” appearance to the paper on front. Just doesn’t look right in any way

The front's perfectly centered with evenly rounded borders - just looks off.

I am not an expert in t210. In fact, I don’t know the set well. But I do know the Jackson and Stengel decently. My gut is yours is a fake. Specifically, I feel like the red borders are too thick and the lettering is not dark enough.

John (OP), if you have it in hand, zoom in on the photo with your scanner or a magnifying glass, or loop.
The photo should have all the dots in it. Dot matrix pattern. See below a card I have scanned at 200dpi and 1200 dpi. There are lots of fakes of Stengel to watch out for. As the guys above said, looks like a repro.

That Stengel is a reprint.
The fellows have told you correctly. I owned one for about a decade and a half. 1- it doesn't look right. 2- the centering screams reprint. Rob is telling you right, get a loop on the photo image and then read what he posted again. 5- The flaking at the edges on the back show that bright white. 6- And finally, get a black light! The back of that card will fluoresce bright purpley-blue. Last edited by FrankWakefield; 08-23-2023 at 04:30 PM. |

It's a dead-on copy of a common counterfeit version available on Etsy with added aging.
Etsy is practically a knock-off scammer's paradise at this point and it's a great 1st place to check for possible knock-offs currently going around. |
