Chad K. comments "I have to date, 138 of these dels, and people think its a hard card to find":
http://www.listphile.com/t206/Howard_Del

I know this topic has been discussed here in the past. Would 138 be the top prewar hoard of one card?

Do any of you know "Chad K"?

I guess he's the ebay user with the ID: commonguycards

He's picked up most of the ones that have sold on ebay in the last month or so.

There are probably 3,000 Howard (Chicago) specimens extant so he has quite a ways to go.

At least 5 years ago a guy named ganley was buying up every Ganley T206 card he could find on ebay. I've noticed the PSA population today is quite low on Ganleys and the price has gone up.

Leon,

Leave him alone! He is, obviously, afflicted with the multiple personality disorder that seems to be going around.

If you look at the original link Trae posted, in the comments section, he posted as chad k. back in August and as chris hoiles, today. Both with the same email addresses used here.

It must be contagious.

so you've driven up the value by decreasing supply, overpaid for most of them on top of that artificial inflation you created (as you're willing to go higher than anyone else on every example), and are left with a resale value of about half of the non-inflated value, since if you decide to sell, or have an emergency and need to sell, you're drastically increasing the supply. how many thousands of dollars would you say you've lost? think about all the nice cards you could have had with that kind of money.

It seems to me that if you're going to corner the market on a single card, it makes sense to keep your activity quiet in the hope that other collectors will conclude that the card is in short supply and will willingly pay more. Gnothi Seauton.

I guess the board is a magnet for schizophrenic personalities. With that kind of membership we should grow exponentially!! ....First we have the Bruces, then the guy that was Keith O, who also came on as his retired 25 yr old lawyer (and I think was also 3rd person arguing with himself too) and now this.....what next?

You left me out.

Why does this guy buy all the Del Howards? Is he a favorite player, or is this a financial move?
