I'm not sure if this has been posted before but I have noticed that there are a ton of collectors on here with great collections! I'm curious to see what your favorite card is in your collection. Mine, although not a T or E card is my 52 topps mantle. Just curious . . .

Altho i dont have a scan to post,im sure most people know what my favorite card looks like.The old judge Ewing/Mascot card is my fav.I wanted the card ever since i saw it when i was about 8 or 9 and i finally got it within the last year

My favorite card (sorry, no image) is a E92 Dockman of Christy Mathewson. The colors and pose are just incredible, as if Christy were captured on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel stretching out his pitching arm like the baseball god he was.

My favorite card is my e92 Nadja Oakes. Great colors and he is literally leaping out of the card. My favorite "card" is the m101-5 Thorpe I recently aquired. I'd part with the Oakes before I ever part with the Thorpe, even though the Oakes is a much better looking card.

Any of those (real ones )1913 Boston Garters, unfortunately, I don't own one.

Owned...my Jackson Cracker Jack, I guess since I always wanted one and found a doosy, uh...a feel good card.

Also , Evers portrait, have a sinfully beautiful one.

My 1903 E107 Breisch Williams Honus Wagner rookie card is my favorite card. It took many years and a lot of hard work to find this card, my 1909 E90-1 Shoeless Joe Jackson rookie card is also pretty high up there on my list!

I could not pick just ONE card. My favorite cards in my collection are my 1955 Topps Jackie Robinson, 1953 Topps Mickey Mantle, 1958 Topps Roger Maris (psa 7). Just a name a few.

(1979). Before that, I had bought a '75 mini-Brock and a '54 Duke Snider with a hole in it (for my son). I gave Dennis King a note saying "I'll give you $20 for the Robinson" as he was stashing it away (making sure I saw it)I'd never seen, nor knew of the existance of, a price guide. Anway, he gave it to me for the 20--it was also supposed to be for my son (standing nearby) but somehow, I knew it wasn't.

Julie, that wouldn't be the same guy from Kings Cards in Berkley would it? I went to his little hole in the wall shop back in the mid/late 70s. I still remember the area and the local flavor. For some reason or other I think of pizza when I think of Kings Cards. Sorry for the walk down memory lane I realize that this has nothing to do with "Favorite Card?" Maybe we can start a thread about favorite card stores (or dealers) of the 70's.

modern paintings, and--in the basement, a few (really nice) old cards (I haven't seen him in 3 years of so). He set up at one of Dennis Purdey's Bay Area shows (Vintage shows, they were called), and charged me $1000 for en ex-mintish N28 Clarkson--which I still have. Oh YEAH--he used to have almost the only Japanese cards in America--he has a Japanese wife--and there was NO price guide--BOY did he soak you for Japanese cards!

Dave's Dougout on San Pablo used to have an occasional early 2oth century card, and a few '30s cards--but now they put all that stuff on ebay. No point in stopping there any more.

There was a store on College Avenue, in Oakland, called "Top of the (9th? 7th? 6th?)". I got a '43 whatisface Joe D there--and a really gorgeous photo, signed, of Koufax (which I posted a while back, in a "greatest pitcher--was he one of? thread). It looked like his '66 card, but smiling a little. They went out of business, I think--at least they aren't there anymore.

LOVE those caramel leaping poses (though I don't have an Oakes yet). My favorite one card is my Old Put Red Cobb (favorite player, favorite pose and favorite color all in one card!!!!!!). Also on my list right behind the Cobb are the various caramel cards I have of Lajoie leaping, Magee leaping, Matty Horizontal, E90-1 Joe Jackson Rookie and my other plain E98 Cobb Red.

My collection is mainly 1930's non-sports, but I do have a modest collection of baseball from 1880s to 1960s. My favorite card is the 1952 Topps card of Gus Zernial. It shows him (wearing a pink T-shirt under his A's uniform), holding a bat that has six baseballs attached and giving the "OK" sign with his left hand. I actually wrote a short article on this card for either Tuff Stuff or SCD back in the early 90's, after I had corresponded with both Zernial and Sy Berger of Topps. I can't find a copy of the article at the moment but I seem to remember that the card was commemorating Zernial hitting 6 homers in three games. I also remember that Berger said that they had taped the baseballs to the bat (I had always wondered how they got them to stick there) and Zernial told me that his undershirt really was pink. I thought maybe my card was miscolored, but he said his wife had mixed something red in with the white laundry. I have a scan of the card but when I go to the post page I don't see the "Insert Object" button, so perhaps someone else has the card and can post it. It really is one of a kind.

The T222 set is one of my favorites from the early 20th century. The photographs are fantastic. One of my favorite cards from that set is the classic Jennings pose where he has one leg raised while clapping his hands together. It took me a while to find one that SGC would encapsulate. I had a really nice one that I won from one of the main auction houses but it measured too short by SGC. Oh well, that's why I've got this one now. I threw in the McGinnis card for good measure. Too be honest about this thread I couldn't find any ONE card that I like more than the rest. I guess that wouldn't be true if I had an SGC40 4BH Kelly card.

Are all of those cards in the second scan Corcoran? Are there laws against stalking in your state? Oh yeah, he's dead. No worries there.

That is an impressive number of Corcoran cards. I only know of one person that collects one player as much as you do Corcoran, this buddy of mine has more Hans Lobert T206 cards than he'd ever need. I would venture to guess the number has to be around 40 or so by now.

Does your friend have every Lobert back available,i have a Hindu back Lobert but its in my back display.I have a piedmont Lobert too so i know he doesnt have a stranglehold on the market but maybe if he keeps collecting them he could make a common t206 tough on his own

Yes theyre all Corcoran cards and i would never recommend for someone to try to collect every variation of a player who isnt the easiest player to find(London old judge cards arent easy to find despite the recent plethora of them showing up,3 in the oregon find,1 on ebay).Stick to someone like Dan Casey if you want a bit of a challenge or Frank Wells if you dont
