would someone try to separate the two cards if they were to purchase this? I will certainly be following this auction, just to see if it sells.

Rebacked? Wow, why didn't I think of that? Now I can finally finish that Merkle back run.

Pretty darn certain it is a reproduction back, but according to the seller:
"someone glued the front and back together making this a legit rebacked T206 card"

It's not unknown to have a good side and a bad side of a card, so I have seen. Can't say for sure but the seller says he doesn't know.....which, he probably doesn't.

They actually might both be good sides, but probably didn't both start out on the same card.

I don't know why someone would take an Uzit back and put it on a Hinchman.

I don't think that back is legit. Compare below (note the location of the factory number line):

Hinchman (Cleveland) is a 150/350 series subject that was issued in 1909..

The UZIT back (whether it's authentic or not) is a 460 series back issued in 1911.

Therefore, what we have here is an impossible front / back combo.

The value of this "Frankenstein" card is less than $1.00 (and, no more than that).

Incidently, I have a Ty Cobb (bat off shoulder) with the same phony UZIT back.

"Uzitstein". Sounds like an Edgar Winter cover band.

fonts and type sizes are definitely different, it really helps when you get to compare a known example...
