Default Advice needed, new to buying empty vintage Topps wax boxes for display

** Any experienced empty wax box collectors out there? Need advice **

I’m looking for advice on how/where to buy empty vintage Topps wax boxes to use as complimentary show picees in my “card cave” to sit alongside my display cards, act as shelves for cards, etc

I am somewhat familiar with some great looking boxes (I believe 1965) that has funky looking, era type fonts with images of HOF players

Others have awseome graphics, etc

Hoping to not break the bank but willing to spend a little of my card budget to add 5-6 great looking boxes for display

Any advice or leads would be great appreciated…

Thx

Jeff

I can't imagine a baseball-themed man cave without a few Topps display boxes. I've added a bunch of them to my display. I've picked most of them up on eBay, although it's pretty slim pickings these days.

I agree that the 1965 box looks great. If you're just getting started, I'd go for the 1968 with Mantle and Freehan, and the 1969 with Rose, Mays, etc. They're fairly easy to find and not too expensive. Also, if you find a top that's separated from its bottom, buy it. It's way easier to find a bottom to match it later. That's how I've acquired several of my boxes.
