Insane. Pound for pound the Kershaw prices are even crazier IMO. Unless you luck into him at a golf event or the couple of days he visits Dodgers spring training (if he even still does either) you aren't likely to get Koufax any other way. If I'm not mistaken Kershaw still signs his Spring Training fan mail occasionally. For the price he's charging for one card, I'd rather roll the dice and send 100 50-cent cards one at a time to Camelback, hoping to just get one or two back!

I'm glad that I got Koufax when I did over the last 10-15 years.
Each time he has done a signing the prices have ratcheted up.

Somebody actually inquired about getting a plaque signed. Seriously? They're comparatively a dime a dozen on the secondary market.

He makes some of these others look dirt cheap.

Nevertheless, if I’d won the lottery, I’d be in for a couple of those spots.

This type of signing only makes sense for a very unique personal item or an item that is group signed that you need him to complete. Most of these items can be had for way less money on the secondary market.

A cursory eBay search turned up several playing days Topps cards, already signed and slabbed, for less than the $1,000 Koufax is asking just for the signature.

Not even Aaron towards the end of his life, was charging that much. Yet another reason I wish I was born about 40 years earlier!

I could be completely off base but I think Koufax does one private signing a year that is mainly to sign items for Fanatics, online authentics (his long time reps), and Topps. These 25 items being advertised are just an add on to the major players in my opinion. He will be signing way more than 25 items. And I would bet that those major players are paying much less than the average Joe for send ins.
