Default Pawn Stars - Steve Grad is an idiot

Not sure if anyone saw this tonight. That guy(seller) tried to rob Rick. And bringing in Grad almost made Rick take a big hit.

Steve Grad's appraisals were so far off, waaaaay too high!!!

These were the 2 items and Grad said he could easily see the Cy Young card going for 200K and the Ted Williams baseball for 65K

I did a quick internet search and found both in 5 minutes.

200K?????? um sold for 60K 2 years ago
https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c.../50005-80036.s

65k?????? um sold for 5K 5 years ago
https://www.memorabilia.expert/shop/...unnels-family/

They sure as shit didn't go up that much in that little of time.

Makes me think Grad maybe knew the seller and possibly getting a kickback, or he's just an idiot, which I find hard to believe, but he proved maybe he is tonight. Thank god the idiot/greedy seller turned down Ricks overpriced offer due to Grad.

I take that show with a grain of salt. It's entertainment. Who knows/cares if the transactions and dollar figures are actually legit.

I know someone who was on the show. He was contacted by Pawn Stars about being on the show even though he had no intention of selling his item.

While I don't dispute that a lot of the show is staged...esp in thlast season or two rick is targeting some really big ticket items.

I saw episode last night...and if a babe ruth goudey is worth hundreds of thousands...I didn't think the estimate on the cy young was so ridiculous? Same image as the just so...handwritten envelope written by young?

The ball on the other hand...didn't do anything for me!!!!

200K is a good estimate?????? for this:

https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c.../50005-80036.s

went for 60K at Heritage, where is he gonna get 200K for the exact same item? Terrible estimate. Heritage, REA, Goldin and a few others get TOP dollar. And when it comes to auction again and it will, I'll post it.

just my opinion! if a quartet of ruth auto'd goudeys hammers at close to 1 million dollars. Why wouldn't a much more rare card sell for 200K.

Because Babe Ruth is Babe Ruth.

And look at the post above yours, looks like if anything it's gone DOWN in value in recent years.

You can't be off by 130-140K in an estimate if your an "expert". And let's say it's gone up and now is a 100K card.....he's still off by 100K. Brutal.

Just curious . Are these new episodes or reruns of past episodes ? My sons and I watched it regularly for a few years when they were younger but honestly I haven't watched the show for several years after I got tired of the weekly Chumley sub plots of stupidity.

The one I have seen multiple times is just where some guy brings in an E90 Cy Young in poor condition, and Rick winds up paying too much for it per the experts. (At the time, anyway - this was probably like 5+ years ago at this point).

I believe that's the main reason why they chose to call it "Pawn Stars."

I'm not kidding.
