Default My list of the nicest Gehrigs. What's yours?

I just posted this in the "top ten must haves" list and wanted to repost it separately for Gehrig fans.

I have limited my buying to just Yankees/Highlanders. I am currently madly in love with Lou Gehrig. Yes, I am very comfortable with my manlihood. Here are a few of my Gehrig must haves and beautiful to boot (what are your Gehrig favorites??):

1933 Delong Lou Gehrig #7

1934 Goudy Lou Gehrig #37 and #61 (these two go together like bookends)

1928 Yuengling's Ice Cream Lou Gehrig #26 (nice strong and simple pic of Gehrig's stone jaw, wow)

1926-29 Exhibit Postcard, Lou Gehrig, Batting see ebay item http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=141280907908

1936 Wheaties Series 1 Lou Gehrig

1935 Wheaties Series 3 Lou Gehrig

1931 W517 Lou Gehrig (happy times)

1934 - 1935 R310 Butterfinger Lou Gehrig

1925 W590 Lou Gehrig (another happy pose)

(fantasy item) R319-Helmar Big League #333 Lou Gehrig Columbia University (I usually I don't like fantasy items but wow Helmar made a beautiful card that I wish was real. An amazing and ghostly picture of Gehrig in his Columbia jersey. They are selling for good money even though they are modern. See ebay item http://www.ebay.com/itm/R319-Helmar-...item19ed8bf943)

I also am an enormous fan of Gehrig...

1. 1925 Exhibit -- gotta lead with his first appearance.
2. 1933 Goudey or WWG -- love the color
3. 1934 Goudey 37 -- captures his happiness and nature
4. US Caramel -- a haunting quality to this card
5. 1926 Exhibit -- another image that really captures his spirit
6. 1928 Exhibit -- like the action shot and unusual angle
7. 1934 Butterfinger
8. Delong's
9. 1935 Wheaties
10. 1927 W560

Default sorry

I don't know why the links to ebay are not working, sorry. But if you just search for the Helmar Gehrig you will find it. It really is a beautiful card.

I agree with most of these lists posted. Here are my rankings:

1. 1934 Goudey #37 (or WWG w/ same image)
2. 1933 Delong
3. 1925 Exhibits
4. 1933 US Caramel
5. 1939-46 Salutations

I think 1-5 are the best Gehrig cards. The rest are mostly just tough ones.

6. 1926 Exhibits
7. 1931 W517 Mini
8. 1934 R304 Al Demaree
9. 1926-29 Exhibits Batting Plain
10. 1936 WWG
