All right, I can post my card! I have been waiting for 23 days to be able to do this. I never was much interested in this set until I started reading the threads here, and seeing how much devotion there is to it I decided to pick a few up. Here is my #23 Goodman red back.

Nice first card!

Good luck with your quest for more if that's the path you choose.

Default Goodman

Much like Brad W. said earlier (in post #154), I also recently started a 52 Topps set in November. I'm about 60 cards into my PSA set so far.

I also have a few raw cards and SGC graded ones (that will eventually be cracked) which will be sent to PSA in the future.

Here is my Billy Goodman:

Welcome to the site, Cheshire.

Nice card, and although I can understand you wanting to show it, we are doing a card #1 through to #407 with each card posted in numeric order every day.

Tomorrow will be card #24 Luke Easter if you have one?

Enjoy the site.

Disregard my interruption, I revised it out. As an Indians fan I should have it but right now I only have but one 52 Topps

My Luke.

Luke was a great man, so I have read, but was murdered while cashing in payroll checks.

"March 29, 1979
On March 29, 1979, he was shot and killed outside a bank at East 260th Street and Euclid Avenue while transporting over $5,000 from payroll checks. Easter was approached by two robbers armed with shotguns and after refusing to turn over the funds, he was shot twice at close range"

A lot of what I hold near and dear about baseball I got from my dad, who was a HUGE baseball fan and a storehouse of stories, facts and figures. I remember my dad talking about Luke Easter, who he obviously liked, who "had a charismatic, bigger than life personality just like Babe Ruth".

Here's my Johnny Groth currently in a SGC slab. I intend on cracking it out and sending it in to PSA with the hope of it crossing over to a 6.

The Huggins and Scott Super set, link to it in post 102 in this thread, lists two BB variants to this card, dark brown versus tan background. I have not yet found two distinct enough differences to add to my set. My BB has the same coloring as the one Jay posted above. Does anyone have a BB with different background coloring ?

I have found out the hard way that differences in color backgrounds in ebay scans can be deceptive ( not talking about intentional) and different when in hand

I have found out the hard way that differences in color backgrounds in ebay scans can be deceptive ( not talking about intentional) and different when in hand
So true. I also put together the 1956 Topps set with white and grey backs and also the 1949 Bowman set with light and dark backs, and there were a lot of listings where it was hard to tell the difference between them. It all depended on the picture and the lighting someone had when they took the picture.

My Sam Jethroes.

Th H&S Super set lists no variant for Priddy, but the ebay seller Irishosta, who sells a lot of 52 variants, has been listing the red back variant in the link below for some time. I have been looking but not seen a second one yet. While looking I did pick up the red back in the scan below for my set. Have seen at least one other with that defect so far
