I've had the VT Griffey for almost 30 years, I know it's good. Sometimes centered cards are real. Lol.

PS. If you look closely, it's not perfectly centered, just ver well centered.

I stand by my point. There are lots of counterfeits of this card, and the originals are all poorly centered based on everything I have seen and heard. Back in the day this was a well-known problem.

Look at the pop report. 8 8s, 3 9s, and speculation was those are counterfeits that snuck through. In contrast, 1897 8Qs and 729 9Qs. But you don't have to listen to me.

The font on Griffey's name and position on yours is too light also and lines up differently. Another sign of a counterfeit. Look how much darker a real one is and how it aligns differently.

Do some more research Peter. Too many nice red cards have been posted on this thread to get in a back and forth with you about the authenticity of a $50 card from the 80s. Thanks for your opinion.

You posted the counterfeit Ethan, not me. And you're the one insisting on its authenticity despite the obvious contrary evidence. But feel free to mock me. Or was there a limited run of a handful of genuine centered cards with a different font? If that's the case I'll apologize.

You forgot to add the piss poor picture quality like most counterfeit cards have. Now can I mock you?

Is this one (not my card) fake as well? I really don't care if my copy is a fake or not. One of my first pick ups as a young boy...when he was playing here in Vermont. It's not for sale, so I'm good reguardless.

Cool. I only followed up because you insisted it was good and I happen to be familiar with the issues surrounding this card. And in the spirit of the thread, here's another red card.

So in your opinion this is not authentic?

Yes your card is counterfeit and so is the one in the Beckett slab. Maybe this will help. https://sportscardinfo.wordpress.com...mariners-card/
