Leon: I have no objection to this proposed thread being booted because of inappropriate placement.

I have faced the prospect of obtaining an unaltered Mayo Delahanty at a price well below $500., and I have barely survived that ordeal. But I did emerge victorious, with my prize! I feel a bit like Indiana Jones, but I did not do this alone. Members of this board made it possible.

I am currently facing a similar situation regarding Anson, specifically, I seek:

Damage = ok
Alteration = ng
n172, or n300 only.
$500. Max.
Can it be done?

Thank you for considering this.

Paul - I'd be interested in an N28 or N162

n28, Tobin and n284 are considered doable.
n300 and particularly n172 are at best borderline.
Others are likely to require comprimize.

Which would you prefer for $500. ?

Why in the world would this thread be inappropriate? I think often times that board members are a little too sensitive to what can be posted. Really, if it pertains to pre-war baseball cards, or anything surrounding them, then it is on topic and perfectly ok. Even a few off topics are permitted per the rules. For the most part it is better to post in the correct forum but even that is somewhat muddied many times.....and if someone is nice enough to ask I have very rarely said not to post. Also, I think many members and lurkers are a little intimidated at other's knowledge but really shouldn't be. I find out how much I really don't know, every day. ...take care

edited to add....N28 and N284 are doable in the right condition..imo
