Just curious to know if they charged you a grading fee or just sent it back.

Do you have a closer scan of the recolored area? A few things are pretty inteesting.
The color is a great match
whoever did it was able to match the background color but didn't bother with the missing bit of border?
It looks like there's a scratch just left of the recolored bit that's not from the crease.

Interesting card, recolored or not It's pretty nice.

Looks like a little paper loss where the crease is took off a nugget of color and the guy went in with a pen or marker and touched it up. Doesn't look that great of a job to me and I'm sure under a loop the paper loss would show up even more defined.

I agree, though. Don't sweat it. Nice looking card, even without the plastic holder.

If it bothers you, though, don't hesitate to send it my way.

I sent a t206 Mullin in twice and it came back altered both times.

I have no idea what they found or how it was alterered, and they don't bother to tell you.

I know it came from a long time collector and I'm sure he didn't alter it, and I did nothing to it, so who knows what if anything they found.

I got rid of my PSA membership anyway, and part of it was over things like that, how hard would it be to say what they think the problem is?????

I'm pretty sure (though not certain) that you have to say on your submission form if you'd accept an authentic grade for any cards you submit. Otherwise, they assume you don't want it holdered as authentic. But I'm sure someone who submits more than I do can clarify.

I can't say it's not recolored from the scan, I did blow up the cropped version 400X and I'm seeing a few things that make me think it's possible the damage happened during printing.

But no grading company would risk slabbing something that odd.

A scan at around 8-1200DPI would show enough detail to be sure, there are a few interesting things but enlarging can cause some odd things with digital images.

More later, I'm a bit addled having been up all night.
