Default October Pickups

Happy to pick this up. A nice upgrade for my 1957 set.

The 57 set is beautiful and that's a great image of Banks. My acquisitions are far more modest. I'm still upgrading my Topps sets, but I did pick up a lot of 611 different 1973 Topps Baseball off of eBay. It was missing most of the major stars and those that were included needed to be upgraded. I purchased a Schmidt and a number of missing stars from Abundant Collectibles which really helped with selection and price. I still need Clemente, Aaron, Mays, Rose, Ryan, and Dwight Evans plus 24 other cards to complete the set.

Phil aka Tere1071

1953 Bowman Color, 1971, 1972, 1974, and 1975 Topps Baseball complete sets undergoing constant revision

1970 and 1973 Topps Baseball sets under construction.

These all came in this week. So technically some were September. But I just got my computer and scanner hooked up at the new house. So just getting some scans done.

Thanks to Mike R., I have added this nice-condition, full 1963 JELL-O box to my Pete Runnels collection. I've mentioned before, Runnels was my favorite Washington Senator when I was a kid collecting cards. I'd love to acquire a 1962 JELL-O box and any Post Cereal box of Runnels.

Haven't bought much as of late, but I am loving these two guys. The 1967 Laughlin World Series #61 1964 Yanks VS. Cards - Mantle is the coveted 'Address on Back' version, so no matter what it costs, when you see one you buy it!! They never come up for sale, only the later 1970's reprinted 'No Address on Back' versions (from after The Mick retired) do.

Grabbing this 1973 Kellogg's #25 Willie Stargell means I am down to only needing four PSA 10s for a complete set of perfectos. Ever so close...

Between the red Cobb in your photo and that 57 Mays, you'll fit right in here!

Just picked up what I think is a Jackie Robinson promo photo card. It's in poor shape, but I haven't seen anything like it before. Message reads "To All My Fans, Sincerely Jackie Robinson." It has a blank back (except for some writing by the previous owner). Hoping that it's real and that someone out there knows more about it than I currently do!!

My first pick up in quite some time.
Was randomly searching 52 Topps cards and came across this one, which I needed, for $12 dollars CDN.
Definitely rough, (and just a filler for now), but for $12 dollars I didn't think I could go wrong. Down to 5 needed now to complete my 52 Topps set.

At this point I am just grabbing HOF cards raw from eBay and COMC. Here are 6 cards that I grabbed this week for an average of $18 each with shipping/taxes. The 1968 Aaron and 1968 Banks have a little crease that the sellers disclosed, and all of the other cards have no serious issues.

3 biggies in Mathews, Wilhelm and Campy and the other 2 in Bob Cain and Bob Schultz, Ben.

Cain and Schultz are still doable someday but I'm unsure if those other 3 ever will be as all 3 command big money as you know.

Definitely rough, (and just a filler for now), but for $12 dollars I didn't think I could go wrong. Down to 5 needed now to complete my 52 Topps set.
Congrats Dale, card checks another box on your list...good luck on the last 5!

Cain and Schultz are still doable someday but I'm unsure if those other 3 ever will be as all 3 command big money as you know.
I miss my Eddie, it's one of the few cards I miss after trading. Best of luck finding some lower grade nice eye appeal cards.

Picked this up from eBay last week. I'm putting together a run of Steve Carlton cards from 1965 - 1980. At this point, I'm still hunting for '68, '69, and '72 Cardinals.

Default Zeenuts

Pretty fired up about this one. 1,100+ Zeenuts from original family in California. 25 still have the coupons. Condition all over the board but still a nice find.

I picked up this 65 Hunter RC for my 65 set...and this 68 Bob Kennedy recently. Significance of the Kennedy card is it is the card that finally completed my 68 PSA set. Seems like it took forever for this card to come available that I completely ignored it's centering.

Great collection! How did a good ol' boy from North Carolina find an original Zeenut collection in California?
