Default Hijack me

I have never been hijacked, but this is not about me.

The forum needs an outlet for hijackers it seems, so please limit your hijacking to this thread. You may apologize to a prior poster for hijacking the thread, but it is not necessary and you may be held in contempt for doing so.

Most importantly do not forget to change the subject every time you post. If you want to respond to prior content in another thread, please use the PM system. If you demand recognition for such an act, just post "PM sent". It's that simple.

Every thread needs a card so I will get that out of the way right now.

Current Topic - I'm opposed to cropdusting

Does changing Cards Count as "Hijacking the Thread"?

This Card seems more appropriate only because it is easier to Hijack when you look mean and hold a bat

Here is a picture of by far the greatest athlete of all time,Žydrūnas Savickas. He is Jordan. Ruth, Pele, and any other greats rolled into one.

The picture is him pressing the Austrian Oak over his head at the Arnold Classic. He did 4 repetitions when not a single other of the best strongmen on the planet could even do it once.

He is now 46 and semi retired but will be at the Shaw Classic in a couple months. I will also be there screaming like a little kid for one of my idols.

You have your hands full.

We have 2 at 11 months now and they keep me hopping for the most part!

Couldn't imagine 9, if that's all of them, but good on you for rescuing them.

Took my kid to her college orientation yesterday. As a freshman, her "dorm" is actually a 4-BR, 2 BA apartment with full kitchen! And it's an on-campus dorm!

She's spoiled rotten.

How about Larry Berra, USN, in World War II. He fitted out a spare landing craft with .50 cal machine guns, rounded up a crew, and went in to several beaches trying to take out as many German pill boxes and machine gun nests as he could. Got wounded, Purple Heart. Nothing funny about it. He did not like talking about it.

I've read a couple of Berra's biographies but they have very little on his war years. I found an MLB.com article relating his war service after reading this: https://www.mlb.com/news/yogi-berra-...oo/c-151195348. A lot of the players in the armed forces didn't really have to fight and just did promotional work for Uncle Sam or played games on bases far behind the lines. Yogi clearly wasn't one of them.

Thanks James,
He's a handful but worth it. Great Berra story, I never knew about that, new found respect for the guy.

Brings up a good point. Why is a GU bat that is "pounded" with ball and stitch marks, tape and pine tar, graded a 10, while a baseball card that shows game use (from being flipped constantly, or put between bicycle spokes, or taped into an album) is graded Poor?

I'm thinking a card grading company should come along and grade cards the same way GU stuff is graded. Cards showing good use should get the highest grades, while pristine, mint unused cards should get the lowest grades associated with "game ready" examples.

A crease on a card = a crack on a bat, or appropriate wear on a jersey.

Thank you, Phil. They have stolen my heart. They were born a month apart last summer. We take care of Ellis Rose several days each week, splitting the duty with her other grandmom.

We haven't been able to travel to meet Leo in person but that changes in July when we head up to Evanston for his first birthday. We are really excited about that trip.

Would a 30 round magazine for my shotgun be large enough to protect all my vintage altered cards in PSA slabs form bigfoot and the aliens when they attack?

Also could someone please explain Ebays authenticity program? From all the posts on the main page it must be very very complicated.

Yogi was my favorite player when I was a kid. I heard he had been at D-Day, but I didn't know the details.
Most people know this, but he was a player on 10 World Series winning teams. That's the all-time record. Joe DiMaggio was second with 9.

There are three current MLB players named Luis Garcia. Name the one with highest career WAR.

Winner receives a fractional share of a Luis Garcia NFT, as soon as it passes TP authentication.

No you didn’t, I just used Google to cheat and find the answer so I could look brilliant and be a winner.
