By far my favorite Non major leaguer snap ever.
I picked this up in a lot recently. A young Soldier in a batting pose in front of a military base. On the back It is labeled Pavelle Color Print on Ansco Printon. I believe dating around the Korean war (maybe a military hobbyist could shed more light on exact date). Just an astounding color photo, pose and setting.

Tim, you might be right about this one, but I have snapshots with rounded corners as far back as the 1930s, and I have one color snapshot that's from the late 1940s.

My guess early to mid 60s. Looks like a U.S. Marine, and also looks like a Marine base - my guess would be Barstow Logistics Base, or Yermo, in California. The young man is wearing a sateen utility uniform with a Marine style web belt and his boots are bloused. A white t-shirt was also standard. This uniform was phased out in the mid 70s. The Quonset huts in the background were also very common during the period. They also were phased out (there are a few left) beginning about that time. Roberto Clemente was a U.S. Marine but unfortunately that's not him in the photo. Hope this helps.

I was basing my assumption on the back stamp. The Pavelle Brothers became Paterson-Pavelle in 1963. And started selling at home color photo kits. The fact it is on Pavelle Brothers Paper Likely Dates it prior to the company merging. Also the kits supplied a more standard paper with a white border. The Vietnam war started for America in 1964. Though who knows, It could have been taken anytime in between and not be during war time at all. I’ve just contacted a UK photo expert to get some better insight. Also I posted a few Kodachrome (color) Snaps of two Cardinals further back in the thread that date from 1948! The exact same wallet size print style as this young soldier. Along with the aagpbl color one that Chris is Referring to.
