My opinion is that Humphrey should have come out against the war before the 1968 election. He would have been president, not Nixon. The autograph, I don't know.

+1 and I think the autograph is not authentic.

I think it is a secretarial. I used to have one that he signed when he was at my mother's hospital and yours doesn't even resemble that one.

This is from a letter on Senate letterhead dated January 22, 1971. Not sure if it is real or not but is different from above.
