Default T200 Premiums

Hi all,

As the regular T200 set is gaining in popularity with some stronger auction prices lately, I have always been drawn to this issue. Just have found them to be really cool to look at with the names all listed and a great overall collection of the whole league at the time.

The T200 premiums that were issued in return for the submission of 40 coupons from Fatima cigarettes, were large sized at 11”x 18.75”. Reportedly and obviously much rarer than the regular issue, these seem to have completely dried up. I haven’t seen one at auction for many years now, after a large grouping that I recall were sold over 10-15 years ago (can’t remember what auction house).

I have one that i acquired, in the Halper Sothebys auction, of Washington with Wajo. Came framed (with a crack i don’t mind much). Curious what collectors have that they can share and if anyone has any ideas about population sizes? I guess they can’t be graded so not as popular at the moment! :-)

Paul

Paul, I hardly see those come up for sale. I've always wanted one, but I'm guessing they're getting further and further out of reach. Nice!

I acquired a Red Sox premium many years ago. Don't remember much in the way of details, nor do i recall why I photographed it with a Senators Fatima and a baseball autographed by Moose Skowron.

+1 Agreed. Last I saw a few was around 5 years ago and I took them for granted back then.

Default T200 Premium

Here is a computer-generated replica of an original T200 Premium (I acquired it many years ago, and it was very affordable).

Well, if Net54 is struggling to have these, they must be really tough! Heritage claimed 6-8 copies of each are estimated to have survived in its description of one 10 years ago.

Great premiums.
I used to have a few but sold them. They are really cool but really large, so take up some room. (And they are super rare.)

I've got a very rough Athletics one and have always been on the lookout for more but rarely if ever come across any with the major auction houses.
