Default c1915 Federal League broadside...well...part of one

Photobucket
Spotted this broadside today at an antiques fair....part of a broadside that is....it was about 13 wide x 10 tall.....back in the day must have been used as a backing in a picture frame and got trimmed to fit...Had it been complete I'd have been all over it....as it was, just couldn't get behind it. But I will say, it's a partial view of a rare poster. The back had another game advertised...It was cracked and brittle....seller had 1914-15 which seemed about right

It's still pretty great! The Federal League was only 1914-15 (or, at least, that was when it was a "Major" league--it existed as a rogue minor league in 1912-13, but not with those teams I don't think), so the dating is definitely right. That's gotta be Johnny Evers in the image, but he didn't jump to the Feds like Mordecai Brown from the Cubs, so an odd choice...

I've got one of those. It's a magnificent piece.

If I remember correctly, the back of mine actually says "no games to-day" - I think it was meant to be put in a store window or something like that.

I don't know who that is, but it isn't Evers.

Agreed, I don't see even a vague resemblance other than a similar pose.
