Default Gassler's

Decent NYAL Gassler's Bread type card from Brian van Horn. One of 2 graded, none better. The whole set has around 40 graded. Rare but not scarce!

I have been chasing this card for 6 years since I first saw it on Net54. Kawika posted it, and I just loved the cocky pose of this guy leaning on his bat with the hat cocked. After having been the runner up a couple of times, I finally secured Yaeger.

Thanks for the reminder Hank! I recall it now that you mentioned it and went back and referenced your book. WaJo faced both Lloyd and Santop. Very cool! Wish it would have happened more.

I don't usually collect photos, but along with the Matty horizontal, the Cobb leaning on bat is my favorite E / D card pose. I am not aware of another example of this photo. (If anyone is, please let me know!)

The letter of provenance is pretty neat -- it comes from a direct relative of Dr. Stewart D. Brown Sr. and Jr. -- and says that Cobb gifted the photo to Dr. Brown Jr.

My pickups from the Philly show. Went specifically for the first 2 items. Had seen them at the previous show, but didn’t purchase then, so glad they were there yesterday…

Was about to leave, then saw this item on the last go-round and had to have it.

I picked up this Orange background Unglaub last month and I finally got around to scanning it next to one of my other Unglaub's.

Like most of orange background t206's that are normally red it has been soaked at some point and probably also exposed to sunlight but I thought it was a cool card for the price.

Pat, I think there's times also where the orange background cards (like yours above) is truly missing a final red printing pass. the rest of your card (face, uniform, etc) do not look soaked or faded due to sun. I think it's missing color. You can tell by seeing that his lips are missing the final red pass. Nice example.

Nice orange T206 card Pat. So many of the 'orange variation' T206 cards have evidence of having been soaked, or back damage, like my Criger. And like yours, all the red color throughout my card is missing, including his face and lips. And I don't think the lack of red is due to exposure to light/sun...cards I have seen that have been exposed to sun (for example, ones with pin or tack holes) show a more uniform fading of all colors.

Just another fun T206 mystery.

It's possibly missing a red pass but I really don't think so. I've become very skeptical of these type of cards over the years of seeing them and owning some of them. The chemicals and sun have a different effect on different cards. Besides the red to orange the ones effected by chemicals/sun also all tend to have fading in the lips and face while some of the other colors are effected differently notice how the letters on Armbruster's shirt are blacker on the faded example and Beckley and Pickering's eyes are brown instead of blue in the faded examples.

+1. It's just damage, but it makes for a cool affect and a cool card to pair with a normal one. I love misprints and would like to believe, but almost none of these are 'real'.

These red-to-orange damaged cards are fairly easy to make, for the less honest folks.

All sent in when grading was still affordable. One short of the Brooklyn team set as PSA deemed my Picinich too fragile to slab.

Default C55 hockey

Boy have these gotten tough. Very few coming to auction lately, bought this in a private sale to complete my long unfinished C55 set! Very excited.
