cool pickup! I have one myself. I wonder why all such cards have orange instead of red backgrounds? When I purchased mine years ago I thought I was getting a rare color variation.

Pete, I was actually going to start a thread about this recently. I think the Brown ink used on the Hindus might have something to do with why so many Orange instead of Reds are found on the Hindu's.

The Red color is by far the color that is most effected by chemicals and sunlight on T206's and I think that's what happened with the Hindu's depending on the conditions
(how dry the fronts were and atmosphere conditions etc....) when the backs were printed. I don't know anything about the inks used but I thought maybe
there was a different chemical used in the Brown Hindu ink.

Agreed Phil. This is the third Hindu Buehler Bros. I've seen. I like to think the brothers were kids that collected together as the examples I've seen include Hindu, Piedmont, Sweet Cap, Old Mill and even an E98. I'd expect a regular smoker to stick to one main brand if he collected the cards.

Scott, I hope you don't mind I added your stamp to my project/website.

Great start to the month- seems t206 is all the rage.

Should arrive in a few days. When cards get crazy expensive but the addict in you can’t help himself, buy Ruth (safest option in this crazy market)

Great pickups so far this month, everyone! I recently got the green color variation of this card graded by PSA. Here it is along w/ the red and b/w ones. Hopefully, this finishes the color run for this card.

Great Ruths Gary. I never knew some of the w516s seem to depict Ruth as a righty, while others correctly show him as a lefty. Are these different poses/different parts of his wind up? Or are they just reversed images?

Honestly, I never gave these cards any real thought, but looking at them all lined up like that, it’s cool that they are one of the few images out there of Ruth as a pitcher.

Great cards as always Gary!!!! Welcome to the W516 club!!

Ryan, these are just reversed images, as the copyright text is backwards on the cards where Ruth is throwing right-handed.

Thanks, everyone, for the comments!

Jim, I love your W516 run also. I think I sold you a couple of those cards! Also, the W516-2-3 is always the toughest one, and you have a very nice copy.

Great Lajoie!! Feel free to post it in the T3 Turkey Red Gallery thread too. We wrapped it up a week ago but your Nap would be a very worthy edition. Congrats!
