Default e98 Backs? Mastro Lot

Posted By: Tim Kindler

I'm confused by the description of Lot #1009 in Mastro's auction of an E98 of Eddie Collins with an Old Put 5ct. Cigar back. The description says,"Just as other E98's have been seen with stamped additions placed atop their checklist backs..." and " The quirky overprint is easily the most desirable of the several types seen in this series..."
Please, can anyone educate me out there? Are there other E98 overprints out there besides the Old Put back? According to the description there are several other types out there. Does anyone know of others? Do you have scans? These are my 2 Old Puts.
Thanks, Tim Kindlerhttp://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1207879081.JPG

Default e98 Backs? Mastro Lot

Hi Tim,

There are no overprinted backs for e98s.

They probably confused the issue with e94.

Good luck with your Old Put hunt. There seems to be a lot of them lately (if a lot is 1 or 2).

Rob
