Default T206 Question

I'm fairly new to the T206 set builder group. I originally started with the purchase of a raw collection from a friend of a friend with a little over 100 different cards. I've always bought the occasional HOF'er in slabs. Anyway, I'm into now. Most of my backs are Sweet Caps, so I printed out a checklist off PSA for that. Everywhere I look, the set total is 524. My checklist shows 508, and since Southern Leaguers (I have learned there are 48) are not on my list of Sweet Caps, shouldn't the total be 48 plus the 508??? What am I missing?

thank you!!! The culprit, thanks to the information you provided, is that the Sweet Cap PSA List I printed out includes variations such as "missing ink" or "double name" which increased the total to 508...after removing those from the list, and adding back the Southern Leaguers, I got to 524. Thanks again! JT

Welcome to the group and the greatest set in the hobby.

There should be 471 different card fronts with a Sweet Caporal back, without counting all the different Subject and Factory numbers. Below are the cards that don't have Sweet Caporal backs. PSA really needs to remove the double name, partial double name, and so many unconfirmed and impossible combinations from their master checklist. I've offered my help, free of charge, many times, but they said they have everything under control. They made a mess of certain registry sets. It's as if they know close to nothing about the cards and the set.

The 48 Southern League cards
Magie Error
Doyle NY Nat Error
Demmitt St Louis
O'Hara St Louis
Lundgren Cubs

Default SWEET CAPORAL set

Hey Johnny T

You will find that many SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #25) are tough to find. My advice to you is to concentrate on a SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) set.

A complete SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) set comprises of 469 cards. The following lists the 55 subjects which were not issued with the SWEET CAP Fac. #30 back..........

524 - [Joe Doyle Nat'L, Kleinow (Boston), Lundgren (Cubs), Magie, Smith (Chi & Bos), Demmitt and O'Hara (St Louis vars.), Southern Leaguers (48)] = 469

Hi Ted, I was thinking about your Sweet Caporal Factory 30 set the other day. The Kleinow Boston can be found with the Factory 30 in the yellow/brown scrap, and the Frank Smith Chicago/Boston can be found with a Factory 30 in the full color "No Prints" scrap. Even though both cards were never released in packs, it would be a cool way to turn your set into a 470 card set.

Hi Ron

Yes, indeed.... it would be a cool way to turn my complete SWEET CAPORAL (Factory #30) set into a 470-card set.

Do you have extras of the Kleinow and/or the Frank Smith cards ?

Take care my good friend,
