Default How do you adjust to the new collector landscape?

Two pics.

Mobile, card show setup.
The wife still gets her camping club weekends; for her time to spend with our friends.
I scope out the show calendars in the vicinity!

Ben

"I love baseball history backstory; especially when it involves cards."

That is very cool. I could steal that idea.

I'll hand it to you. That's the first post that ever got me actively searching for "Axis RV Motor Homes" on the internet.

And Leon, it's so cool; the RV is a stand alone type; i.e. solar panel system, etc.
Some enthusiasts (not my cup o' tea) stayed out in the wilderness; dry dock camping; took care of their on board water supply; for TWO WEEKS!
Back to my point; when we pull into a campout, I just plug into AC power to keep my coach batteries charged, on the campground's dime. (I know, campground fees)
I am not leaving her hi and dry; if I pull out to go to a show; she's just sittin' round the fire with the rest of em. I unplug the power plug, stow it and off I go!
I have even used it as a backup vehicle to run to the store. Lower in height than Class A and C motorhomes and very maneuverable.

Just starting this new retired lifestyle but I am stoked.

Dave, it is under RUV, Recreation Utility Vehicle.
Thor Motorcoach site.
top-left drop down,
they are now listed under the Class A as well, I think.

That's a nice looking vehicle. Perfect size. We've talked about driving around the country at some point in our lives, but I'm not interested in the maintenance and storage of a giant RV.

That's the wife's fave; "SANTO 10" is the one on my van; the former tow vehicle.

My wife and I own a "Dolphin" motor home (picture is not ours, but that's the type we have). Our best trip so far started at our place in LA, went thru Yellow Stone, by the Grand Canyon, up Pikes peak (barely, hahahaha), passed the Devils Tower, Mt Rushmore, the Corn Palace, Chicago, the Arch in St Louis, Graceland & Beale Street, a double A 9 inning no hitter in Jackson, TN; then DC, Dodgertown, Key West, the French Quarter & the Garden District, and home.

And of course various places in the middle. About 12,124 miles in total (not that I was counting).

Doug,
what was the name of the pitcher? RE: Double A no-hitter.

We were driving through Jackson, TN and had just passed Pringles Park, which had a sign that said "game tonight", when we broke down on the side of the road.

We got towed to a mechanic, and soon figured out that we would be in Jackson for a couple days. We got a hotel room, and when the lovely wife asked what I wanted to do for dinner I reminded her that there was a game tonight.

The next night we went to another game, and we met a very nice couple who invited us to go as their guests for the next night, as season ticket holders they could evidently bring guest once a season for free.

The next day as it was getting close to game time, and my ever suffering baseball widow wife made reference to going to the game, I said we should go to a movie or something, as she had put up with enough baseball while we had been there. She said it would be rude to back out on the offered tickets, so to the game we went.

The only no hitter I have witnessed in person in the over 500 games I've been to (in 49 major league parks, and 15 'other' parks).

Thanx to the generosity of a nice couple in Jackson, TN and my polite wife.

That's a cool story Doug.
Thank you.
it is good to see there are others out there.
Ben

P.S. Manning's baseball card would be pinned to the bulletin board in my RV.

I admire your fortitude. Two weeks in a van with my wife, the cops would have to strain someone's remains to find the fingerprints.
