The postcard is old, but Im not sure photo is of a Major Leaguer. The stamp box is an "Artura" from 1906-1912. Its interesting. I dont like postcards where the player is not identified. |

I saw that auction...it went much higher than I would have guessed for an unknown player that is most likely an amateur or minor leaguer. |

Frank, where are you seeing this being advertised as Joe Jackson....The photo is a minor leaguer or town team player from the Jackson, Michigan area. |

ya, the winner of the first auction relisted it in the Pre1930 category (under a different ebay ID) with a catchy "1911 Joe Jackson Postcard" title, then went and shill bid on it. It still sold for $1 less. I screwed up and put a snipe bid on it last night and forgot to cancel it, otherwise it would have sold for even less. I guess everyone figured it out before I did. I never saw the first auction. |

Frank, I had no clue that the postcard was back on ebay...I had to go back into "my ebay" because I was watching it the first go round...When you posted the pic, I knew I had seen it before, and no mention of Joe Jackson was made in the first auction so I was completely confused. I wonder what this guy will list the postcard as next??? If anything hopefully someone at ebay will take notice and kick this guy off, but I doubt that will happen. |
