Thanks for the trade Tim!

Next on my list is a 1925 or 1926 Bill Terry exhibit if anyone's got a spare...

Won this Cobb Bat On from TBarlage on eBay. That makes all four T206 Cobbies.

Bought the Waddell and Rowe from Joe Yanello. Former completes my E93 set, latter was last high number Diamond Star I needed. Two sets pau.

Landed this nifty Zeenut Buzz Arlett's brother Alex raw. Just got it back from SGC. It's my only 1918.

Won this T206 Dunn, Triple Gainer variation, off eBay.

I assume that's a PhotoShop job and not PSA giving their opinion on which way the card should be displayed?

David:

I hate to tell you this. I mean I really don't want to be the one to break it to you. In fact, I hope someone may have PMed you and I am not the one to break this to you. I live by the credo: "No one loves the messenger that brings bad news." Who knows there is a tiny possibility that I could be wrong and besides it's not the end of the world if I'm right - you have a fabulous collection anyway. But...again, I didn't want to be the one to break this to you, buuuttttt that's not Buzz Arlett. It's Alexander Arlett (his brother). No big deal. He wasn't such a bad player, anyway.

I almost made the same mistake too.

As usual T.H.E. Cat is correct. While both Buzz and Pop played for Oakland in 1918 the player pictured is Alexander "Pop" Arlett.

Damn nice card though. 1918 is widely recognized as the toughest of all zeenut issues mainly due to the War. I think too, though not as often mentioned, that the influenza outbreak of 1918 may have played a role.

If it makes you feel any better, I was relatively excited last week to get a Herman Pillette card only to find out it was Ted Pillette.

Hmmm, what's that T. Pillette on the front of the card mean? Cat begins to contemplate: Must be his nickname: "Tough guy" Herman Pillette.....yeah, yeah, that's the ticket.

David- that inverted Dunn image made me laugh
That Arlett card is a beauty, who cares which brother it is, the 1918s are scarce as hen's teeth and yours is one of the nicer ones I've seen. Congrats.

I just got this Konetchy in the mail. I spent 15 minutes looking at it last night and can't for the life of me figure out why it is a 2 and not a 4. Oh well. It'll be raw soon enough anyway so it doesn't matter to me. And I got it for a good price so I'm happy.

The Fatima Premium came from Grandpa's attic via the last Heritage Auction. (just kidding about the attic part).... I had been wanting one and this one is actually in the upper echelon of conditions I have seen them in. It didn't meet reserve so I made an offer after the auction and it was accepted. I picked it up yesterday and had a nice lunch with Chris Ivy....This Premium is huge....

Default Konetchy

Hi Chris W, that Konetchy looks like a strong 4! I suspect that PSA found some tiny glue residue on the back. I've been stung the same way a couple of times.

Thanks! I'm thrilled with it. My favorite cards are the ones that have a tiny flaw like a small bit of paper loss on the back edge or a small wrinkle that drops the card down a couple grades. It's a great way to get awesome looking cards on the cheap. I've looked the card over several times and I have yet to find the issue. Of course I hadn't thought of looking for glue.

I think the Eddie Collins T206 is one of the nicest - - if not the nicest - - T206 card.

Nice pickups.
