I was bidding on a Heritage auction Item and my $550 bid turned into $525,500...
So I made an honest mistake here while bidding on a card in Heritage's online auction. I bid $525 and then saw a message that said "my bid needed to be $550 or higher". I then entered $550, but I guess my bid of $525 was still entered into that text field so when I typed in "550", I think it added that on to what was already there. The result is that the bid that I intended to enter as $550 got entered into the system as $525,550.
Question is, Will Heritage correct this for me? It was an honest mistake that I caught not 10 seconds after making the bid and immediately reported to them. I still want to bid on the card but just don't want to leave quite such a high MAX bid. The good news is this is maybe a 2,000-2,500 card only so I don't think it would get rung up too high even if Heritage didn't correct the issue for me. Heh.... Thanks all, Brian Last edited by shammus; 11-26-2022 at 05:06 PM. |

Dude, you just made my day....that worked! Whew, I'm relieved....I didn't want that hanging over my head the next 3 weeks until the auction ended.
Thanks so much!! |

Did the same thing in a Weiss auction a while ago. They were very gracious about fixing it. I did sweat profusely for a few moments, though.

Unless it's stated in their terms otherwise, an auction company HAS to accept a bid retraction until the hammer falls.
