Default Anyone Ever Seen A Mantle Like This?

Not mine and a fair warning there is a "gotcha" here. This is front and back of a picture that may or may not be out of a book or magazine.

Bad to judge on one letter but I've never seen a Mantle end on a capital E.

Also odd to see "7#" instead of "#7"

Definitely no good, looks like they were trying to replicate Mantle's rookie year signature and I'd guess it was a kid or something that put it on.

That was my thought too...this was submitted by a high volume dealer.

I have a Thurman Munson that was signed right in front of me that has failed twice yet this gets through?

Looks like the "best wishes" was done by a different pen and person.

I have absolutely no idea how this got through - I can't say I remember an instance where PSA made such a mistake on a Mantle. Could you disclose who the seller is?

PSA HAS "jumped the shark"...Wonderful presentation in the holder as well. Nicely centered. Shouldn't be too much longer until my prediction 10 years ago that they would be GAI before it's over. I don't think they are that good and the corruption at PSA is double that of GAI.

Notice the authentication is for authentic "photograph". Not "autograph".

Honestly may be the worst autograph authentication I have ever seen. Slowly drawn, poorly formed, and total crap.

But to Fudd's point... that slab is a real thing of beauty. So well centered and symmetrical. And that beautiful clear scrunched up condom that holds it is simply breathtaking!
