Even better question would have been, what team had 3 500 home run hitters, a guy with 490, and NONE of them led the team in home runs. You can't make this stuff up. |

And on the 71 Giants team Alan mentioned, again, someone else entirely led the team in HRs -- Bobby Bonds. |

Truth be told, the '97 Series leaves a worse taste in my mouth. The 1995 season was like a dream because it had been so long (I got teary eyed just singing the national anthem at Jacobs Field before Game 5 simply because I really felt I'd never see the Indians in the Series). And even though I liked the '95 team more than the '97 edition, it was brutal getting so close and seeing it slip away. |

From what I can tell, the 1993-1996 Indians are the only teams in history to have more than two players who ultimately reached 500 homeruns (Murray, Ramirez and Thome). |

Ted I give up, like Steve I can't come up with any more than two at a time. I thought there might be some team with some combination of Sosa Thomas Thome Palmeiro but it seems no more than two ever played together. |

The 1989 Rangers had Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro and Juan Gonzalez who combined, have 1,612 career homers. Ramirez, Thome and Murray have a combined 1,540 homers. |

Well, at the rate these guys are going, I think the 1994, 1995 Mariners will soon be overtaking all the other teams. You had Griffey at what, 607 and counting, A-Rod at 540 and counting, Tino with 339, Edgar with 310, Jay B with 309. |

Eventually the Rangers from 2002-03 will be the leaders with Arod,Palmiero and Juan Gone. Right now they sit at 1543 and of course one of them still has 9 years left on his contract(unless of course the Yankees eventually add people who hit more than the 1003 Palmiero and Juan had) |

To add even a further twist to this, I wonder which teams OPENING DAY starting 9 had the highest home run totals (lifetime). This, obviously, excludes all all-star teams. I would still venture a guess and say its the 1996 Mariners with 2145. (Tino was gone by '96, but A-Rod wasn't a starter in '04 or '05.) |

Probably the 96 Indians since they had the three 500 home run guys, Albert Belle who had around 380,Julio Franco,Baerga,Alomar and Lofton who all had over 100,plus Vizquel who has 77 I believe. Theyre over 2500 definitely without me doing the actual math |

Just in case anyone cared. Murray,Thome and Ramirez all homered in the same game just 3 times over those 3 seasons they were together, all in 1996. For the record,Greg Gohr who probably never knew it before, was the first pitcher ever to give up home runs in the same game to 3 future members of the 500 home run club on May 14,1996. Tom Gordon was the last to do it on June 25,1996. The other game they victimized 3 different pitchers,Murrays was a walk-off homer |

I think everybody figured he was talking about an all-star team. The 2004 NL team had Griffey,Bonds,Sosa and Thome all on it. I didnt look past that one but he also asked for teams with three and technically if the amount of fingers on my left hand that are extended is correct, thats 4 guys |
