Default Able to tell if Trimmed from picture?

How does anyone tell if a card is trimmed T206, 33 Goudey without seeing it in person?

A good microtrim job can’t really be seen in a scan alone. But many trim jobs are not good microtrim jobs. Comparison of the other edges and corners, angle of the cut, even just size (natural variance varies widely between issues but usually gets down to a point where a natural cut of that size in that set is all but impossible).

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say usually not, possibly sometimes.

edit: but Greg gave a much better response above

It depends on the quality of the picture, and what size it can be displayed at.

A decent scan will show what you'd need to see on T206, maybe on Goudey as their borders are less reflective.

Good question but I do not think even a quality photo can always show you if it has or not has Been done in all cases

I don't think the graders always know how to tell a trim in person. Being able to tell a trim from a photo, unless it's really bad, isn't likely. And let it be known, I don't think I am that good at telling either. And I have read the articles about this and that.
