Default N29 Original or Reprint?

Over the past week a seller on eBay sold two N29's (Fogarty & Ryan) that I believe are modern day reprints. Two immediate red flags for me; 1) the cardstock is not white, and 2) the backside print is black ink. I contacted the seller and advised of such. He wanted to debate the situation and let the listings run. The listings sold for $165 and $260 respectively. Am I missing something or are buyers that uninformed?

100% fake. Fuzzy image and tan stock.

Default I was the buyer

I was the buyer. The moment they arrived I could smell a counterfeit. Feel free to message the seller. He clearly knew and is trying to pull wool. I filed within 3 days with ebay, but the truth is that this guy needs to be kicked off of ebay.

Default Images of Fake and a Real n29

I have the Fogarty up against a Real N29. It is clear the the size, font color and paper stock is off. It even fluoresces under black light (But has had some kind of treatment) The seller is being really reluctant to grant a refund. I appreciate it for anybody who lets him know that this is a crime.

Sorry you got burned. He knew what he was doing. I don't see any way around filing a counterfeit claim through eBay. Good luck!

Best you fight your own battle.

An address reveal really does not help you trying to get your money back.

Good luck.

Ebay favors the buyer usually so you should not have a problem.

I don't get how fakes that aren't even the right colors get bid up to $260.

Default Wrong color

I clearly didn’t see that this card was a fake through the pictures which was a pretty obvious miss I hindsight. Nonetheless, this guy is a pure scammer

If the card sold for $260, how did it not go through the authentication process?

Default Card sold for $260

I wonder if the $260 sale will go through the authentication process.

That was my question in the previous post. If you already received it then apparently it didn't so I'm wondering why if it sold for $260. I know there are some reasons for the process to be skipped, but I don't know if this listing met any of them.

It was listed in the tobacco cards section - so no program.

Default Had a plan

This seller clearly had a plan to circumvent the authentication process.

Just to be clear he sold it under Tobbaciana not under Trading Cards. If it were listed under Trading Cards it would have gone throught the process.

Dean is selling a Buck Ewing on eBay right now that has the Guarantee:

I said "Tobacco Cards"; the exact precise name and a correct statement. Collectibles > Tobacciana > Tobacco Cards. Why would that mean "trading cards", a completely different category?

Because if it’s in Collectibles> SPORTS TRADING CARDS > Trading CARD SINGLES the algorithm will send it to Authenticity Guarantee. Listing under TOBACCIANA will throw the algorithm off and thus NOT QUALIFY for AG. Capeesh?

Default Seller Caved

Seller must have realized that the scam wasn’t going to work. He caved this morning. I will be filming me mailing and returning the cards. Pain in the butt but it’s part of life in the world we live in.
