1954 Charlie Grimm ceramic baseball mitt. Measures 10" x 10". Picked it up in a recent Hunt auction. It was the centerpiece of the lot and wasn't even pictured. The condition is absolutely terrific.

Thrilled with this Lou Boudreau Day Poster and Pennant, celebrating the Player-Manager of the 1948 World Champion Cleveland Indians, in his hometown of Harvey, IL, “Courtesy of Helen’s Shop.” I have had the pin for many years, but had not seen the poster in some time. Happy to add this to my CLE Type card collection!

I wasn't sure that this "facing left" Speaker m113 existed until Scott Gaynor listed it on ebay.
Thank you Scott. |

1911 real photo postcard of Cornell Intercollegiate Ice Hockey Champions, with captain Edmund Burke “Stubby" Magner. Cornell’s first Hockey championship. Photo taken January 28, 1911, after Cornell beat Harvard 3-2 in overtime.
At 5’3” Stubby is the shortest person to have played a fielding position in Major League Baseball (along with Yo-Yo Davalillio), and the second smallest player in major league baseball history. The shortest player on record being 43-inch Eddie Gaedel. Stubby Magner was the Captain of the 1911 Cornell baseball team AND hockey team. Not only a great baseball shortstop, he captained the Cornell hockey team to an undefeated season in 1911 (10-0). After graduating, he played baseball for the New York Highlanders (Yankees) in 1911 - appeared in 13 games, playing short-stop and second base, had 7 hits in 33 at bats, 3 runs, 4 RBI, and 1 stolen base. |
