Default Found a Super Rare Pin. How do I sell it?

Hey Everyone -

I often buy things because I've never seen/heard of them before if their price is worth the "Research Entertainment Value."

Well long story short, I purchased the following Pinback:

After an evening of research, I'm pretty sure its a Mickey Mantle PM10 Blue Portrait Pin and appears to be fairly significant (or at least the limit details I found regarding it points to this).

Long question short - How do I sell something like this? Is there enough Liquidity to just 10-Day eBay Auction? Or is it better offered elsewhere?

Thanks for the help!

I think you’ll get “what it’s worth” on ebay. Mantle stuff is always sought after but I’m pretty sure there is a wide variance in the price of his PM-10s (just like the guy I collect, Willie Mays). Without digging out some reference books, I don’t know if your Mantle is one of the valuable ones. I know they reproduced some of his pins. Good luck.

Your pin is a nice example of a 3 1/4 inch what is known in the pin world as an Aqua mantle due to the color. It is real. The square box on the back is a great indicator .. I will give a wide price range between 600 -1100 depending on who wants it. Safe number says it will sell in the 725 -750 range..What cuts down on price is foxing small spots on front... cracks chips dents or peeling.. Yours looks nice. As for sale ebay probably is the best bet start it at a level your comfortable at and factor in the ebay fee.. Nice pin good luck with it...

There you go. I was hoping Al would chime in. I thought the box on the back indicated the larger size but wasn’t 100% sure. Al - the 1.75” has been reproduced, yes?

Stefan as a follow up you might want to try our B/S/T section here.. It would be my belief that in the condition its in (which is nice) There would be a buyer on this site for it.. Question is how much? You know what you have into it, you see the guide lines I gave you. And remember if you use ebay the fee lets say is 15 18 % ? If someone makes you a decent offer here you might be better off. Nothing to lose.... Just a thought!

You're right - the plan is to auction it starting Sunday Night, can definitely put it up here until then
